Study Confirms Half of What We Eat Is Junk & Harmful!

Folks, according to the not too surprising results of a recent study, it has been reported that nearly 60 percent of what Americans eat is junk —as in ultra­processed foods loaded with sugar, salt, fat and all the other stuff we are NOT supposed to snack on.

The team of Brazilian and U.S. researchers said the data pretty clearly explains why two ­thirds of Americans are obese or overweight, and why rates of diabetes and heart disease are soaring.

To elaborate on this, Dr. Carlos Augusto Monteiro of the Tufts University in Boston, wrote in his report “The most common ultra­processed foods in terms of energy contribution were breads; soft drinks, fruit drinks and milk ­based drinks; cakes, cookies and pies; salty snacks; frozen and shelf­ stable plates; pizza and breakfast cereals, meat, fruit and milk provided the most calories among unprocessed or minimally processed foods.”

Now, the strange thing is nutritionists and public health officials alike BOTH say that Fresh fruits and vegetables should make up most of what we eat. But the study found they contribute just under 650 calories a day in the average 2,000 calorie-­a-­day diet.  (In other words, MOST people are not listening to the nutritionists and public health officials…and I won’t be shocked if they , themselves are NOT following their own advice…but I digress)

So, what could be more disturbing about this report is that studies show that starchy, fat-laden, processed foods raise rates of heart disease and diabetes, as well as cancer, and it should be pointed out that people who eat more fruits and vegetables have lower rates of all these diseases.

With that being said, it should be noted that the researchers used information from a large national study of U.S. health that includes a detailed food diary. They focused on 9,300 adults and children.

Personally, I for one am NOT shocked at all, as I do notice that the bulk of what MOST people eat is mostly junk, junk and more junk…with the occasional juice, piece of fruit or salad!!!

I guess most people think they can just work it off in the gym, but the truth is there are plenty of people who might be slim, toned or whatever that are very unhealthy on the inside.

So, people… the focus should be on eating Alkaline forming, Body-Healing, Mucus-Biding foods as in Fruits and Vegetables and for those of you who believe in God and the Christian Bible or Jewish Tanakh, it’s NOT  a coincidence that it says right there in Genesis 1:29 that “Every plant bearing seed and every tree bearing fruit with seed shall be yours for FOOD!!”

So, keep that in mind.
