Now, while God didn’t reveal the scientific reasons for his meat commands, a scientific basis can be easily deduced based on the fact that God’s law generally forbids the consumption of

*Carrion-eaters (According to Wikipedia, Carrion (from the Latin “caro”, meaning “meat”) refers to the carcass of a dead animal. Carrion is an important food source for large carnivores and omnivores in most ecosystems. Examples of carrion-eaters (or scavengers) include vultures, hawks, eagles,[1] hyenas,[2] Virginia Opossum,[3] Tasmanian Devils,[4] coyotes,[5] Komodo dragons,[6] and burying beetles.[7] Many invertebrates like the burying beetles, as well as maggots of calliphorid flies and Flesh-flies also eat carrion, playing an important role in recycling nitrogen and carbon in animal remains. READING THIS DEFINITION SHOULD MAKE THE AVERAGE PERSON RECOIL AT ONCE!)

*Animals who kill other creatures for their food

Again, pigs, vultures, raptors, etc. are capable of eating and subsisting on diseased or decaying flesh without they themselves being harmed since they are assigned by God and His set up of nature to be the ‘clean-up crew of the earth’.

Predatory animals (lions, raptors, etc.) often prey on the weak (and sometimes diseased) animals in the herds of prey animals.

In regards to aquatic life, bottom-dwelling shellfish (clams, lobsters, oysters, etc.) eat decaying organic detritus which sinks to the sea floor. As a result, it’s easy to see that one common feature of many “unclean” animals is that they can thrive on decaying and diseased flesh which would sicken or kill a human being!

At this stage, most of us know that our modern world (which eats large amounts of unclean meats) has developed many degenerative diseases, the causes of which are not well-understood by many. Furthermore, it may be quite difficult to conduct scientific tests on the dangerous risks of eating unclean meats because the tests would have to cover lifetimes, and people would have to practice the same meat-eating habits over those lifetimes before an association could be made on which groups developed more degenerative diseases and of course the funding of such studies will have to be undertaken by a government that most likely will not be willing to get involved in such a venture.

Hello, they get some revenue from meat and animal by-product producers!?

However, it shouldn’t be rocket science to deduce that eating such unclean animals is unsafe both on a short and long-term basis. Considering, the known short-term health risks of eating unclean meats, it is likely that eating unclean meats also poses long-term health risks which are not yet known in the medical fraternity.

God told the Israelites that they would be “blessed” and “prolong their days” if they obeyed his laws (including the meat laws) and Since Christ declared that God’s laws were not “done away,” this means that if Christians obey God’s laws on clean and unclean meats, it will lead to a healthier, longer life for them as well if they have to eat meat anyway.
